STEP 5 Linking Advertising & Marketing

Brivity makes it easy to advertise your active listings through two different portals: National websites and social media sites.  Through an easy link and a few clicks you are well on your way to getting your properties noticed by potential buyers as well as informing your sellers every time you post the property to a site!

1. Apply and Activate an Advertising Plan

From the property profile page, add an advertising plan to the property if you have not done so previously.  To add an advertising plan to the transaction of your choice, choose “Apply a Plan” in the top right corner.  A modal will open allowing you to select any advertising plan that is saved in Brivity.  Select “Finish."

From the transaction workflow navigation, click “advertising.”  A list of custom advertisers will already be populated on the page.  Each website is a portal that allows you to create a link from the address of the property to the website. Select “search for ad on Google” next to the Advertiser you want to link to your property.

A new window will automatically  open and bring you to the google search page.  Select the first link from the Google search that will take you to the listing on the advertiser’s site.  Copy the URL and return to the advertising workflow.

*Note: If a website cannot be found for the address of the property, then the following window will appear. This means that your MLS has not linked to the website and it cannot be found on Google.  When this happens, simply close the window, go back to Brivity and move to the next advertiser.

Click the “Edit Pen” next to the advertiser you just searched on Google.  Paste the URL from the advertiser’s site into the URL of ad bar.  Click “Mark as Complete to send to Client” in the checkbox to make this advertisement visible to viewers on the timeline and on the advertising tab, as well as including it in the client update email.

Click “Save” to complete the advertisement and close the window.  Move to the next advertiser you would like to link to your property.

2. Posting to Social Media

To post a listing to social media, select Marketing from the left navigation bar.  Find the listing you are advertising and select the colored icon of the social media platform you are posting to.

*Note: In order to post to social media, the listing must be set to "published" from the property details page.

If the icon you wish to post to is greyed out then that means your Marketing is up to date for that listing on that social media platform  and you do not need to create a new post.  If the icon is greyed out and you still wish to post to that particular platform (ie. open house or price reduction), simply double click the icon and it will change from grey to color allowing you to create a new post.

Facebook

To post to Facebook, select the Facebook icon.  The property page’s main image, the address and the description of the listing will appear in a new Facebook post window.  If you are already signed into Facebook from your computer then your profile photo will appear in the top left corner of the post.  From here you can also manage access in the dropdown menu next to your profile photo and choose to post to your business page if you wish.  If you are not already logged into Facebook you can login from this window once you select the Facebook icon in Brivity.  Select post to Facebook to automatically post the listing to your Facebook page.  Back in Brivity, check the Facebook icon check box to signify the post has been completed. Alert your clients to its completion.

Craigslist

To create a Craigslist post, select the Craigslist icon.  Two things will happen when you select the icon: a plain-text advertisement of the listing will copy to your clipboard (you will not see this action occur) and your property main image will download to your computer in your downloads folder.

Log in to your Craigslist account and open the post window.  Designate which city/area you are posting to.  Select Housing Offered.  Select Real Estate - By Broker.  Agree to Craigslist’s guidelines.

Fill out the required fields; email, posting title and postal code.  In the posting body field, paste the information from your clipboard by selecting "paste" or by pressing the Ctrl + V buttons simultaneously on your keyboard.  The text will populate and is 100% Craigslist friendly.  Add any additional details and then select continue.

Upload the downloaded image for the property by selecting add image and selecting the property image from your downloads folder.  Continue and complete the advertisement and view the unpublished draft.  Select Publish to finalize the advertisement.   Back in Brivity, check the Craigslist icon’s check box to signify the post has been completed and alert your clients to its completion.

ActiveRain

To create a blog on ActiveRain select the ActiveRain icon for that listing and log into your ActiveRain account.  Once logged in, an AcitveRain post will pull up from the profile you are logged in to.  The post is copied into your clipboard.  From there, paste the source code for ActiveRain and post.  Back in Brivity, check the ActiveRain icon check box to signify the post has been completed and alert your clients to its completion.
